OJO DE DIOS ART PROJECT WITH MS. MIA – ES & ECC SUMMER PROGRAM 2020
Our Summer Arts and Crafts would not be complete without doing a fun and colorful weaving craft. Today our students were tasked with creating Ojo De Dios or “God’s Eye”. According to Wikipedia, it is “a spiritual and votive object made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross. Often several colors are used. They are commonly found in Mexican and Mexican-American communities, among both Indigenous and Catholic people.” The symbol means the power to see and understand things. These weaving crafts are great for decorations, DIY ornaments, and handmade gifts for friends. This activity improves students’ fine motor skills and concentration. Great work, crafty summer students!
